One of the most popular features in the Dutch daily newspaper de Volkskrant is the comic strip Sigmund. The women in burkas who occasionally appear in this strip became an instant hit. Cartoonist Peter de Wit cleverly developed their personalities, turning them into real Burka Babes with surprisingly upbeat views on religion, men and life in general.
